Telecom Italia plans new debt issue

Telecom Italia (TI) has announced plans to issue new debt and use part of the proceeds to buy back older bonds to refinance its debt ahead of maturity. According to a report from Reuters, the buyback offer is aimed at four bonds, one each due in 2015 and 2016, and two others due in 2017. The bonds have a combined value of around EUR3.35 billion (USD4 billion).
