Zimbabwe’s state-owned fixed line operator TelOne has revealed that it is expecting 4% growth in revenues in 2015 as it focuses on network expansion projects, including the deployment of new fibre infrastructure. Managing director Chipo Mtasa told local newspaper The Source: ‘Our projects for the year will be focusing on expanding broadband connectivity in the country as well as improvement of our client services systems.’ He added that funding would come from internal sources plus government loans. TelOne is expecting broadband and data services to account for 25% of revenues in 2015, up from 14% last year. Separately, the operator has confirmed that it has recovered USD100 million in unpaid bills after hiring debt collectors to chase up defaulting customers.
