T-HT required to provide minimum 1Mbps connection

22 Dec 2014

Industry watchdog the Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) has increased the minimum allowed speed for broadband services under Croatia’s universal service system from 144kbps to 1Mbps. Universal service provider T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT) is required to offer a special retail package which meets the 1Mbps minimum requirements to all users not covered by its standard internet access services. The new threshold will come into effect from 1 January 2015. T-HT claims to cover more than 90% of the population with ADSL technology, while it also has high speed fibre networks in the main cities.
