ARTP boss says Senegalese operators must embrace VAS

19 Dec 2014

The Director General of the L’Autorite de Regulation des Telecoms et des Postes (ARTP), Abdou Karim Sall, says the country’s telecoms industry must embrace value added services (VAS) in a harmonised way to provide a strong lever for growth and means to ‘revitalise and to enhance the digital economy’. The ARTP head used the platform of the second edition of the National Exchange Forum to note the importance of VAS on the development of telecoms, saying that recent data showed that with millions of Senegalese hooked up to mobile internet services already, ‘there is connectivity [already in place] to develop the sector further to the benefit of Senegalese consumers’.
