Rostelecom switches on IPTV in Moscow

11 Dec 2014

Rostelecom has announced the launch of its ‘OnLime’ branded IPTV service in Moscow, meaning that the telco’s service is officially available to customers nationwide. The capital and its environs are understandably a source of potential growth for Rostelecom, where it has already made inroads via its broadband and pay-TV offerings. Having built up sizeable high speed internet base since its Moscow launch in 2008, and having established itself as the second-biggest internet provider in Moscow, the carrier is now looking to ramp up its product suite, moving from cable-based analogue and digital video broadcasting (DVB-C) to the more advanced interactive IP-based standards.

Rostelecom’s OnLime suite includes a full range of services, including high speed broadband access, digital TV and fixed line services, and is currently available for more than 3.6 million households in Moscow.
