Orange Group is in talks to deploy fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in the prefecture of Saint-Denis in Reunion, according to a press release. Group CEO Stephane Richard and director of Orange Reunion Eric Bouquillon have revealed plans to launch FTTH in Q1 2016 initially covering 20,000 homes in selected parts of Saint-Denis: namely La Montagne and the eastern part of the town centre (including such locations as Moufia, Montgaillard, La Trinite, Champ Fleuri, Le Butor and Vauban). Richard commented: ‘Orange welcomes the arrival of fibre-optic in Saint-Denis…[it will promote] economic attractiveness…and allow people to access new services.’ Orange Reunion currently operates ADSL and VDSL2 broadband services.
