Claro Brasil expects to invest BRL10bn in 3G, 4G in 2015; merger meeting scheduled for 18 December

Carlos Zenteno, the president of Claro Brasil, has claimed that his company is set to invest around BRL10.0 billion (USD3.8 billion) in the expansion of its 3G and 4G networks during 2015. In other news, Telesintese reports that the group’s board of directors will convene on 18 December to approve the previously announced merger of America Movil’s (AM’s) fixed and broadband units, Embratel and NET Servicos, with sister company Claro Brasil. The exchange rate offered to current shareholders of Embratel and NET was confirmed last month, as the merger process gathered momentum.
