DRC pays off debt of USD440,000 to ATU

8 Dec 2014

The Democratic Republic of Congo has paid USD440,000 to the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) in remuneration for owed contribution fees, if BizTech Africa reports are correct. The country has been in debt to the pan-African telecommunication institution for 17 years and this payment results in the DRC being restored as a full member, with rights to vote and attend congresses.
