Vivo extends 4G coverage to 16 new cities

Brazilian mobile market leader Telefonica Brasil (Vivo) has activated its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in 16 new cities across seven states, Telesintese.com.br has reported. The rollout means that Vivo’s 4G footprint now encompasses 127 cities and around 77 million people. Eight of the new LTE locations are in Sao Paulo, namely: Americana, Araras, Jundiai, Marilia, Rio Claro, Santana de Parnaiba, Sao Vicente and Valinhos. Meanwhile, other locations include: Campos dos Goytacazes and Nova Friburgo (both Rio de Janeiro), Passo Fundo and Santa Cruz do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul), Rio Verde (Goias), Pouso Alegre (Minas Gerais), Dourados (Mato Grosso do Sul) and Rondonopolis (Mato Grosso).
