RCOM signs seven-year pan-India deal with Ericsson

5 Dec 2014

Reliance Communications (RCOM) has signed a seven-year managed services deal with Ericsson, covering the operation and management of the provider’s wireline and wireless networks across India. The Swedish vendor will take over responsibility for the field maintenance, network operations and operational planning of RCOM’s GSM, CDMA, W-CDMA and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO networks. The pact is an expansion of an existing agreement between the duo, increasing Ericsson’s managed services footprint to all 22 circles. Commenting on the deal, senior RCOM official Suresh Rangachar said: ‘Given the complexity of networks and the growing performance expectations from customers, we are banking on the experience, innovation and technical expertise of Ericsson to improve the productivity of our network and ensure customer satisfaction and retention by delivering superior network performance and service quality at optimised costs.’
