ForthNet pay-TV subscribers surpass 500,000

2 Dec 2014

Alternative fixed network operator ForthNet has announced its Nova satellite pay-TV service has reached over 500,000 subscribers in Greece at the end of September 2014, an increase of 20.2% from the same period in 2013, with the operator citing its Nova 3Play bundled fixed telephony, broadband and TV service packages as the major axis for growth. Nova began broadcasting in December 1999, launching its first High Definition (HD) content in 2010 and premiering 3D capabilities in 2011. ForthNet also reported that its total double-/triple-play bundled subscribers increased to 356,000 at end-3Q14, up from 252,000 twelve months earlier, while total broadband/fixed line customers on its unbundled local loop (ULL) network reached nearly 644,000 at end-September 2014, up by 12.7% year-on-year, whilst it claimed that this growth gave it a 32% subscriber market share in Greece’s ULL-based broadband/telephony operating segment, according to its own calculations.
