1 Dec 2014

Danish telecoms operator TDC has commercially launched voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) technology, following a successful trial of the service. TDC’s technology director, Kim Sogard, disclosed that the technology is supported by TDC’s use of 800MHz frequencies. Further, the executive disclosed that TDC is close to completing the rollout of its 4G network: ‘With 4G coverage close to 99.5% of all Danes, TDC can offer VoLTE virtually everywhere from the commercial launch date … The increased capacity also provides opportunities to implement more flexible video conferencing than [available] today – and with far more participants. ’
