Azercell subscribers reach over 4.6 million

Azeri mobile service provider Azercell has reached more than 4.6 million subscribers according to daily newspaper AzerNews, citing the operator itself. Azercell is the country’s largest mobile network operator in terms of subscribers with TeleGeography noting its user base grew from just under 4.3 million at the end of June 2014 (giving it around 45.3% market share), ahead of rivals Bakcell (31.1%) and Azerfon (23.6%). The Swedish/Turkish-backed provider offers network coverage to 99.8% of the population and 80% of the territory.
