21 Nov 2014

The Russian cable services operator ER-Telecom has reported a strong performance for January-September 2014, with revenue climbing 19% year-on-year to RUB16.52 billion (USD280.8 million), EBITDA up 52% to RUB6.65 billion and net profit soaring 279% to RUB2.02 billion; EBITDA margin climbed by eight percentage points to 40%. The results were boosted in part by moves to launch new services, including its new 200Mbps broadband offer. As reported by CommsUpdate, earlier this month Perm-based ER-Telecom, which trades under the banner Dom.ru, launched a new 200Mbps broadband internet service in the city of Ekaterinburg, making it the third city after Kazan and Ufa to be upgraded with the cable operator’s ‘Dom.ru 200’ service. In a press release at the time, ER-Telecom said subscribers taking Dom.ru 200 will need to purchase a new router and network card, adding that an optional digital television service, Dom.ru TV, is also available.
