Four bidders vying for Wind’s mobile phone towers

At least four groups are bidding to acquire around 6,000 mobile phone towers which are being sold off by Vimpelcom’s Italian subsidiary Wind Telecomunicazioni. American Tower Corp, Abertis Infraestructuras and EI Towers are among the bidders, Bloomberg writes, while investment fund F2i is thought to have joined with Providence Equity Partners to submit an offer. The 6,000 towers are valued at around EUR700 million (USD870 million). Wind’s parent company Vimpelcom said in a statement: ‘The process with towers is ongoing, but we cannot name the potential buyers due to [a] non-disclosure agreement.’
