Tesco Mobile Slovakia reaches 150,000 users

7 Nov 2014

Slovakia’s only independent mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Tesco Mobile passed the milestone of 150,000 active customers by the end of September 2014, up from around 100,000 users at the beginning of the year, reported, as cited by Telecompaper. The other notable virtual mobile brand in Slovakia, FunFon, is currently solely owned by network operator Orange after its radio station partner Fun Radio withdrew from the youth-focused brand. FunFon passed 100,000 users in Q1 2012 according to TeleGeography. Another potential MVNO launch is reportedly being considered by Slovak Post in cooperation with the country’s newest mobile network operating licensee SWAN, which itself previously ran an MVNO service over the network of O2 Slovakia (also the network host of Tesco Mobile).
