Puntland, a region of north-east Somalia which declared itself an autonomous state in 1998, has announced new conditions for mobile telephony users and customers of money remittance services, local news source Dalsan Radio reports. According to the decree from the interior ministry, all mobile SIM card users must hold a valid Puntland ID card, while beneficiaries of remittance services are also required to show their IDs to receive their money.
