3 Nov 2014

Bakcell, the second largest mobile service provider in Azerbaijan, with 31.1% subscriber market share at June 2014, has launched discount services for subscribers who travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting from 1 November. Charges for Bakcell customers to go online in the UAE start from AZN0.25 (UAD0.32) per megabyte of data; for ‘CIN’ and ‘Klass’ subscribers incoming calls will cost AZN0.25 per minute, outgoing calls AZN0.75 a minute, and a service fee of AZN0.35 will be charged. Company CEO Richard Shearer commented: ‘In order to provide [customers] with an opportunity to take advantage of favourable tariffs, while travelling in [the UAE] we have for the first time in Azerbaijan reduced the mobile internet prices…and made significant changes to voice services as well.’
