Southern Kyrgyzstan backbone complete

Kyrgyzstani state-owned telecoms operator Kyrgyztelecom has announced completion of a 945km fibre-optic backbone link connecting the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Batken, which will ensure faster internet speeds for those living in the southern regions of the country. The broadband provider currently has 2,400km of fibre network and plans to deploy a further 2,000km to form a national ring, linking Kyrgyzstan’s major cities.
