GTT to use BICS European network

Belgium-based international wholesale voice and data carrier BICS has announced that global Tier-1 Cloud networking provider GTT is to use the 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) BICS Pan European Network (PEN) 2.0 to improve the performance and reliability of its network. Bob Burris, senior vice president of Global Engineering and Operations at GTT, commented: ‘The BICS platform provides GTT with a flexible solution to expand its backbone network bandwidth while keeping operating expenses under control.’ BICS owns and operates 9,000 kilometres of fibre in Europe, with a cable landing station in Marseille accessing the Europe India Gateway (EIG) and SEA-ME-WE 4 submarine cable systems.
