Denmark, China sign roaming agreement

15 Oct 2014

The Danish government has signed a cooperation agreement with China to facilitate the reduction of wholesale mobile roaming tariffs between the two countries, which will pave the way for the inking of a similar agreement between Danish and Chinese mobile operators to lower retail roaming prices. So far, Hi3G, TDC, Telenor, Telia, TELE-POST, Faroese Telecom, China Telecom Corp, China Mobile and China Unicom have pledged to sign agreements to renegotiate the wholesale prices they pay to use each other’s mobile networks.

Denmark’s Business and Growth Minister Henrik Sass Larsen said: ‘I am pleased that the Danish and Chinese mobile companies are ready to work together to lower roaming prices. It would be good news for Danish companies and citizens traveling to China, and for the many Chinese tourists who annually visit Denmark.’
