Alcatel-Lucent opens Tokyo network facility

10 Oct 2014

Paris-based equipment vendor Alcatel-Lucent has opened a new network facility in Tokyo, Japan, which it says it designed to give telecoms service providers, end users and enterprise customers first-hand input on the creation of new ultra-high speed broadband and cloud-based services/applications. According to Telecom Lead, the company’s new Customer Network Center (CNC) has been set up to improve the profile of networking trends in the industry, and in particular the market shift towards cloud-based networking. Among the platforms being deployed at the new CNC, Alca-Lu is putting in its CloudBandTM NFV technology and Nuage Networks – something Alca-Lu says is its ‘in-house start-up’ venture focused on software designed network (SDN) solutions.
