Skynet expands FTTH network in Vilnius

Lithuanian fibre-optic network operator Skynet has expanded its infrastructure to around 3,000 apartments in the capital Vilnius. The company, which uses equipment supplied by Cisco Systems, has now embarked on the rollout of FTTx in the district of Perkunkiemio and aims to increase network coverage to 4,500 apartments by year-end, with a further 4,000 targeted in 2015. Other areas of Vilnius covered by the Skynet network include Seskine, Fabijoniskes, Paeilaiciai, Justiniekes, Vireuliekes, Pilaite, Karoliniekes, Antakalnis, Zverynas, Lazdynai, Naujamiestis, Baltupiai, Jeruzale, Santariekes and Snipiekes. Services offered by the company include high speed broadband internet, IP telephony and IPTV.
