Orange Armenia extends DC-HSPA+ coverage

Orange Armenia, a subsidiary of Orange Group (formerly France Telecom) says that since the start of this year it has carried out more than 100 DC-HSPA+ network upgrades in the country and installed 25 new sites, boosting quality and coverage not only in towns but also in a number of Armenian villages. In particular, it notes that people living in some villages in the regions of Aghavnadzor, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Tavush and Lori region can now benefit from the full range of Orange services; the DC-HSPA+ service offers peak downlink speeds of 42.2Mbps. Further, the cellco says it has also increased coverage at Khor-Virap monastery, Garni and Gehard, as well as ensuring full coverage along the Yerevan- Dilijan road. In addition to the completed works, by the end of this year Orange Armenia says it plans to deploy 14 new HSPA+ sites in the country and carry out more than 30 network upgrades, which will ensure the extension of its coverage to Gosh village (Tavush region) and Geghadir, Voghjaberd and Hatsavan in Kotayk region.
