Telefonica launches Tuenti in Peru

Following launches in Spain and Mexico, Spanish telecoms group Telefonica has launched pre-paid sub-brand Tuenti Movil in Peru, targeting the youth segment. The service uses Movistar’s network and provides unlimited access to WhatsApp and SMS on all of its plans, whilst a Tuenti Mobil app also integrates social networking functions such as photo sharing. Tuenti offers three tariffs: Combo 5 costs PEN5 (USD1.69), includes 80MB of data, and ten minutes of calls and is valid for five days; Combo 10 (PEN10) is valid for ten days and features 180MB of downloads and 25 minutes of calls; and Combo 15 (PEN15) has 300MB data cap, includes 40 minutes of calls and is valid for 15 days.
