7 Oct 2014

Zimbabwe’s cellular market leader Econet Wireless has introduced new time-based bundles for mobile internet customers using the Opera Mini browser. The firm is charging USD0.40 for 24 hours of internet access or USD0.95 for three days, IT Web Africa reports. Previously, the operator provider access under volume-based tariffs, or unlimited connectivity under packages for users of applications such as WhatsApp and Facebook. Econet had more than 8.8 million subscribers and almost 60% of Zimbabwe’s mobile market in terms of users at the end of June 2014, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
