Serbian fibre-optic network operator Targo Telekom, a subsidiary of Slovenian investment firm Nuba, has been put up for sale, reports PC Press. NetBid Industrieauktionen has been hired to conduct an auction of the company, which is expected to take place by the end of the year. Targo’s backbone network stretches 850km and connects all major cities in Serbia, as well as the neighbouring countries of Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia (FYROM) and Croatia. It also operates a 400km fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in Belgrade, over which it offers high speed internet access, telephony and IPTV services to residential and corporate customers. Around 160,000 households and businesses are able to access the FTTH network in the wider territory of Belgrade, with around 6,500 customers currently subscribing to the company’s telecoms services.
