Le Cable, Zeop, Outremer provide best broadband speeds in French overseas territories

Online portal Degrouptest.com has published its bi-annual ‘barometer’ of download speeds across the French overseas territories, reporting that Martinique-based cableco Le Cable offered the fastest average downlink transmission speeds as of 1H14, with downloads averaging 11.29Mbps. Meanwhile, its sister company of the same name claimed the honours in Guadeloupe, averaging 8Mbps. Fibre-optic provider Zeop – which offers download speeds of up to 100Mbps on a commercial basis – came up trumps in Reunion, notching average speeds of 8.99Mbps, while Outremer Telecom (Only) led the way in both Mayotte (8.88Mbps) and French Guiana (4.74Mbps). TeleGeography notes that Le Cable and Outremer are both owned by Luxembourg-based Altice Group, which boasts a strong presence across the overseas territories.
