Sisteer of France inks full MVNO deal with Vivo

15 Sep 2014

France-based mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) Sisteer Group has signed a full mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Telefonica Brasil (Vivo) to operate in the country over the latter’s host network. The five-year agreement will see Sisteer offering branded services countrywide, and comes more than two years after it first secured an MVNO authorisation in the country in March 2012.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, in June 2013 Sisteer revealed plans to launch an MVNO business in Brazil, and according to its CEO Alain Bureau, the newcomer said it would initially target its new service at a niche market – the evangelical community in Brazil – by early 2014. Traditionally a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) hosting MVNOs on its own platforms, its new service will be branded Fish Fone – a reference to the symbol of the evangelical movement.
