Senegal’s national fixed line PTO Sonatel is deploying around 371km of new fibre-optic cabling between Tambacounda, Kedougou and Moussala, Senegal, at a cost of around XOF2 billion (USD3.93 million), to improve connectivity in the interior regions of the country. The project, dubbed ‘Fo Tkm’, involves the installation of SDH and WDM equipment and the substitution of some wireless network elements with fibre, Le Soleil writes as reported by Telecompaper.
