Ericsson demonstrates 300Mbps LTE-A in Slovakia

10 Sep 2014

Slovak Telekom (formerly T-Mobile Slovakia) and Ericsson have announced that they have achieved a mobile data transfer rate of 300Mbps using intra-band Carrier Aggregation (CA) technology on a trial Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) network. A practical test was carried out in real network conditions in Bratislava, the firms said, using CA to provide more efficient use of spectrum across two or more channels. The trial used 2×20MHz of spectrum in the 2600MHz band.
