2degrees expands 4G to Wellington

10 Sep 2014

New Zealand wireless operator 2degrees has launched its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Wellington and expanded coverage to more areas of the capital, Auckland. 2degrees, which first introduced 4G services in Auckland in June, says two-thirds of the city is now covered by its new high speed mobile service, while around half of Wellington also has a signal. The cellco plans to launch LTE in Christchurch by end-September and add Hamilton to its footprint next month. Rival operators Vodafone NZ and Spark (formerly Telecom NZ) both launched 4G services last year.
