Telecoms network tax relief programme approved

The Brazilian government has approved a tax relief programme for a number of projects related to the deployment of telecoms networks, reports Convergencia Digital. According to the Ministerio das Comunicacoes, approximately 1,400 projects are expected to benefit from tax breaks, estimated to reach a total of BRL6 billion (USD2.7 billion). The programme covers projects including data centres, wireless and fibre-optic access networks, submarine cable networks, smart grids and satellites.
