Multimedia’s EBITDA falls 4% on 1% sales hike

Polish triple-play fixed network operator Multimedia Polska has posted a 4% year-on-year drop in EBITDA to PLN85.0 million (USD26.6 million) in the three months to the end of June 2014, despite revenues which climbed 1% in the same period to PLN175.6 million, and a 2.2% annual increase in the group’s voice, internet and TV revenue generating units (RGUs) to 1.564 million. At the end of the second quarter Multimedia had 823,000 unique customers (of which 129,000 were triple-play subscribers, 300,000 double-play and 394,000 single-play). In twelve months to the end of 2Q14 its broadband and telephony RGUs increased by 31,000 and 5,000 to 516,000 and 289,000 respectively, while TV RGUs shrank by a net 1,000 in a year to 759,000 at mid-2014.
