Indus Towers has announced plans to roll out an additional 2,000 towers nationwide, the Economic Times reports. B L Venkateshwar, Indus Towers’ CEO noted that the upcoming rollout will build on the company’s existing portfolio of 113,000 towers, adding that some 20% of the new towers will be constructed in the Maharashtra (including Goa) circle. Indus revealed that it has recently increased the number of towers in the Maharashtra circle to 11,000, giving it coverage of 380 towns and 43,500 villages in the region. Indus Towers is a joint venture between cellcos Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, split 42/42/16.
