PTA awards additional 3G frequencies to Nova, Siminn

Icelandic telecoms watchdog the Post and Telecom Administration (PTA) has announced that it has awarded additional spectrum for 3G services to domestic cellcos Nova and Siminn (Iceland Telecom). The regulator pointed out that both operators requested extra frequencies in unspecified spectrum bands in order to meet increased demand during the festival season; the PTA disclosed that the frequencies have been awarded on a temporary basis.
