Arqiva inks long-term site share deal with CTIL

8 Aug 2014

UK-based communications infrastructure and media services company Arqiva has announced what it has called a ‘ground-breaking’ site share contract with Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd (CTIL), the network sharing joint venture between Vodafone UK and Telefonica UK. According to the vendor, under the terms of the ten-year agreement it will provide support on network consolidation and 4G LTE deployment across the UK; no financial details of the deal have been disclosed.

CTIL managing director Malcolm Collins was cited as saying of the development: ‘The vast network of Arqiva’s sites across the UK is a core component of facilitating this consolidation for the mobile network operators. This particularly offers us the opportunity to get the right site, at the right location, which will assist in driving better coverage, capacity and network speeds across cities, towns and rural locations for Vodafone and Telefonica UK customers.’
