TDC has announced that US-based Capital Research and Management Company, which is part of an investment management organisation known as the Capital Group Companies, has purchased 5.1% of the share capital and voting rights in the Danish telecoms operator. According to a press release, the equity fund acquired 41.495 million of the telco’s shares for grand total of DKK41.495 million (USD7.47 million).
According to TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, TDC is listed on the Nordic Exchange (NASDAQ OMX), and its major shareholders include Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (indirectly via Newton Investment Management) and Massachusetts Financial Services Company, each in possession of more than 5% of the shares. The remainder is held by private investors and TDC employees.
