ETB FTTH passes 500,000 homes

Saul Kattan, the president of state-backed telco Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota (ETB) has revealed that the operator has connected 500,000 households to its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in an interview with El Tiempo. ETB has signed up 5,000 users to its fibre services, whilst it has garnered just 500 subscribers to its IPTV offering since its launch in April. The official also added that ETB has begun trials of its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network.
