CommsUpdate turns 12!

3 Jul 2014

This year, TeleGeography celebrates 25 years of providing authoritative telecom data, and CommsUpdate observes twelve years of publication. Much has changed since CommsUpdate launched in 2002. In recognition of these changes, we’re pleased to introduce CommsUpdate’s new design, optimised for reading on mobile devices, and an interactive history of our daily telecom news summary!

The history features interactive graphics that track the evolution of CommsUpdate’s coverage, readership, and most popular news stories. For example, CommsUpdate currently covers 238 countries and territories — twice the number covered in its first year. It also provides insight into how the topics most frequently covered in CommsUpdate have evolved with the telecom industry. Most notably, the prevalence of articles covering wireless technologies has grown exponentially, while in 2010 for instance, stories on WiMAX gave way to LTE as the latter gained wide and fast adoption.
