Elephant Talk Communications Corp has announced the successful migration of another group of Mexican cellco Grupo Iusacell’s existing subscribers onto its dedicated platform. Confirming the development, Iusacell CEO Adrian Steckel noted: ‘We are pleased to have successfully completed another important step in our migration program, which will see a total of approximately five million existing pre-paid customers on our GSM network migrated to the ET mobile platform over the next 60 to 90 days. Over the quarters thereafter, we will look to complete the last phase of the migration effort, when our entire remaining pre-paid, post-paid and MVNO customer portfolio will be migrated onto the Elephant Talk platform.’ To date it was also confirmed that Elephant Talk now had more than 1.2 million Iusacell subscribers on its platform, with Steven van der Velden, chairman and CEO of Elephant Talk, saying he was ‘confident of [the company’s] planned migration schedule for the eight million total Iusacell subscribers’.
