German telecoms group Deutsche Telekom, which provides fixed and mobile services in its domestic market under the brand Telekom Deutschland, has begun offering LTE roaming for customers travelling to a number of European countries. The company says it has concluded LTE roaming agreements with network operators in Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Norway and Poland, while further deals with providers in the UK and other countries are expected to follow shortly. Telekom added that customers with a 4G-enabled mobile phone and an applicable data tariff will be able to access LTE speeds in these countries ‘at no additional cost’.
