17 Jun 2014

Sprint Corporation has confirmed that it has signed 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) roaming agreements with a dozen rural US operators, boosting its footprint outside of the larger markets that it has focused its deployments on to date. The agreement forms part of Sprint’s Rural Roaming Preferred Programme, which was developed in connection with the Competitive Carriers Association, and gives Sprint additional LTE coverage of 23 states, over 352,000 square miles and a population of over 34 million people.

The twelve carriers involved in the roaming pact have been named as: SouthernLINC, nTelos, C Spire Wireless, Nex-Tech Wireless, Flat Wireless, SI Wireless, Inland Cellular, Illinois Valley Cellular, Carolina West Wireless, James Valley Telecommunications, VTel Wireless and Phoenix Wireless.
