TDC deploying Alca-Lu’s small cell solution

11 Jun 2014

TDC, Denmark’s largest mobile operator in terms of subscribers, and French-US equipment vendor Alcatel-Lucent have announced the deployment of the latter’s small cell solution in order to boost TDC’s mobile broadband coverage in high-traffic environments across Denmark. The vendor is supplying its 9362 Enterprise Cell and 9366 Small Cell Gateway to support the coverage and capacity demands of TDC’s enterprise customers, while 9361 Home Cell will be deployed for residential consumer use. Under the terms of the contract, the deployment will be undertaken in two phases: the first stage, which will run throughout 2014, will enhance localised capacity and coverage, particularly in office buildings for TDC’s VIP Enterprise customers, while the second phase (beginning in 2015), will see the deployment of small cells directly in the homes of customers requiring an enhanced service.
