The Slovenian mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Debitel has been put up for sale by parent company ACH Holding, formerly known as Autocommerce, and its affiliate Adria Mobil, which between them control 96% of the company. According to a report from the Slovenia Times, ACH is expecting the sale to raise around EUR10 million (USD13.6 million), with likely buyers to include its rival operators in the Slovenian mobile market. Figures from the country’s telecoms watchdog AKOS showed Debitel to be the fourth largest player in the cellular sector by subscribers, with a 3.8% share of the overall retail customer market as of end-December 2013 (although TeleGeography notes that this was down from 4.0% a year earlier). The sector is dominated by network operators Telekom Slovenije, Si.Mobil and Tusmobil, while the fourth network operator T-2 is credited with less retail mobile accounts than MVNO Debitel.
