Altibox unveils plans to introduce 10Gbps FTTH broadband this August

Norwegian triple-play provider Altibox, which boasts the country’s largest fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, has announced plans to introduce downlink transmission speeds of up to 10Gbps for residential subscribers. From 1 August 2014 a 10Gbps package will be priced at NOK14,900 (USD2,515), while a 1Gbps subscription will cost NOK1,490 per month. Elsewhere, existing subscribers will see their download speeds increased incrementally, at no extra cost. The base level 25Mbps package is being boosted to 35Mbps (NOK449 per month), and 60Mbps subscriptions will be raised to 75Mbps (NOK549 per month).
