Ooredoo establishes international wholesale arm

Ooredoo (formerly Qatar Telecom) has established a new division, Ooredoo Global Services (OGS), which will serve as the group’s wholesale arm worldwide. According to the Qatari firm’s press release, OGS ‘offers a single point of contact for wholesale carriers to access the company’s 18 operating companies representing one of the largest internet peering networks in the Middle East that is interconnected with more than 100 operators, including many of the largest in the world’, with the aim to ‘provide enhanced connectivity and the delivery of advanced business services for carriers across our operating companies through an integrated approach that will be more efficient and effective for our customers.’ Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, formerly Ooredoo Qatar’s chief wholesale and international officer, has been appointed CEO of OGS.
