Slovak Telekom’s revenues climb 2.4% in Q1

Slovak Telekom, part of the Deutsche Telekom group, posted consolidated revenues of EUR196.9 million (USD274.2 million) in the first quarter of 2014, an increase of 2.4% over the same period of last year. The full-service operator’s EBITDA fell by 6.5% in January-March 2014, however, to EUR77.5 million (down from EUR82.9 million in 1Q13). Total Slovakian mobile customers declined by 1.4% year-on-year to 2.257 million, and mobile ARPU decreased by 9.7% from EUR13 in Q1 2013 to EUR11.7 in the period under review. Fixed broadband subscribers increased by 9.0% in the year to 31 March 2014 to 532,000. Fixed telephony lines in service dropped by 3.3% y-o-y to 914,000 at the same date. Total digital TV customers across all platforms – including recent pay-TV acquisition Digi – stood at 444,000 at end-March 2014, compared to 179,000 a year earlier.
