SFR, Vodafone extend global strategic agreement

French mobile operator SFR has extended its strategic agreement with UK-based Vodafone Group for a further four years. Under the agreement, the two companies’ business units –SFR Business Team and Vodafone Global Enterprise – will work together on new business opportunities, including machine-to-machine (M2M) services, 3G and 4G roaming, and unified communications. Further, the two units will continue to provide fixed and mobile telecoms services to multi-national customers in France, as well as offering roaming services for consumers travelling to and from the country. Further, SFR subscribers will have access to Vodafone’s mobile and fixed networks covering nearly 30 countries, as well as approximately 50 Vodafone partner markets worldwide. SFR’s CEO Jean-Yves Charlier commented: ‘This latest agreement with Vodafone bolsters both companies’ positions in the key enterprise market in France and confirms SFR as a leading player in the French telecommunications [sector].’
