Sotelco taps ZTE for wireless network rollout across Cambodia

Chinese equipment vendor ZTE has been awarded a network upgrade contract by Cambodian wireless operator Sotelco. ZTE is replacing Huawei infrastructure in the capital Phnom Penh and other key areas, rolling out 1900MHz 3G technology and a new 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) system which is expected to go live at the end of this year. Sotelco had around 600,000 subscribers at the end of 2013, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
